Food And Diabetes

People with diabetes should:
- See a dietitian to have a meal plan that meets their individual needs
- Follow a regular meal pattern e.g. 3 meals a day (people on insulin may require snacks)
- Choose from a wide variety of foods to ensure you are getting all the nutrients they need for good health
- Choose foods that are high in fibre, such as whole grain breads, cereals, fruits and vegetables
- Choose foods that are low in fats and sugar
- When drinking alcohol, use only in moderation and always have with food
